About ConsoleScout
What ConsoleScout is
ConsoleScout is an independent catalog of retro and emulation handhelds. For every device it puts three things in one place: what it really runs, system by system; its full specs; and today's lowest price from the makers' own stores, with price history.
It is run by one person. There is no newsroom and no sponsored ranking: the order of every list comes from the data on the page.
Where emulation ratings come from
Every rating links to the review that tested that device on that system. We use a fixed list of review sites that test hardware themselves, and we don't carry a rating over from one device to another because they share a chip.
When two reviews disagree, we show the lower rating and say why in the note. A system with no rating hasn't been tested by a source we use. That is not the same as unplayable.
Where prices come from
Prices are read from the makers' own online stores twice a day. They don't include shipping or import fees, which the shop adds at checkout. A price we couldn't recheck in the last seven days is not shown as current.
Price history starts on the day we first recorded a price. We don't copy history from other price trackers.
Corrections and money
If a spec or rating is wrong, send the device, the field and a source through the contact page and we'll fix it.
Some shop links may earn us a commission, and pages may show ads. Neither changes a rating, a price or the order of a list. See the affiliate disclosure.
